Government expresses condolences over Sri Lanka attacks

Hungary's prime minister, president and foreign minister have expressed their condolences over the Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka.

Hungary remains a committed partner in a global fight against terrorism and religious extremism, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban wrote ho his Sri Lankan counterpart. Orban wrote that he was shocked and deeply saddened to hear about the attacks.

„This time, the terrorists attacked believers during prayer service, which is an extremely ruthless act," Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto told M1.

According to MTI, Tristan Azbej, the state secretary in charge of helping persecuted Christians, said it was „unacceptable” that while Christians are the world’s most persecuted religious group and their persecution claims more than 4,000 victims a year, „international organisations and civil law forums conspiratorially keep quiet about this”.
